I’m very please to announce that I have had success in this years British Wildlife Photography Awards, with a category win plus a highly commended image.
I won the British Season’s category with this series of roe deer.
All the images were taken in East Anglia with three in Suffolk and one in Norfolk.
Spring: ‘Yellow Roe’ a female roe deer walk amongst a flowering oilseed rape field near to Bury St. Edmunds.
Summer: ‘Red Roe’ a female roe deer stands in a poppy field again near to Bury St. Edmunds.
Autumn: ‘Harvest Roe’ A roe buck standing in a stubble field near to Seething.
Winter: ‘Snow Roe’ A pair of roe deer walk across a snow covered field near to Bury St. Edmunds.
My Highly commended image came in the Hidden Britain category and was this image ‘Balancing on bracken’ of a grasshopper taken on Cavenham heath, Suffolk.
The awards evening in London was a fantastic event and it was good to meet many of the other prize winners.
The publicity for the event was worldwide and I’ve seen my images on all sorts of media such as BBC TV, ITV and Sky News and many newspapers and online blogs as well. I was interviewed by BBC Radio Norfolk and made an appearance on the very local ( to Norwich) Mustard TV, which even included a trip to the make-up room !!!!
Simply for me this is my finest success in my photographic career……….so far!! and just pushes me on to get better.
Finally if you do buy the book for this years event I do have another image in there of this otter taken in Thetford.
